Wales Public Library · Meeting of August 24, 2026
Wales library board unanimously adopted five governance policies governing computer use, volunteer recruitment, and lending practices. The Public Library Board of Trustees approved policies on public computer and internet use, volunteer policy and privacy standards, volunteer application procedures, and lending to residents of municipalities with decertified libraries, with each motion made by Sue Gregory and seconded by Keri Pitcher. The August 24 meeting drew four attendees and also saw discussion of upcoming programming including a German paper cutting event on December 1 and cooking classes for teens recommended by the Teen Advisory Board.
The board tabled bylaws review, which trustees determined needs shortening, and deferred a vote on a revised Library Director job description until after bylaws are finalized. The board discussed seeking grants for fire exit, ADA walkway, and basement infrastructure improvements.
