Wales Public Library trustees voted unanimously to post the Library Director position after director Kara Jund announced her resignation to take a job in New Salem effective November 12, 2026. The motion by Keri Pitcher to submit the job posting for immediate release is contingent on Jund's transition discussion with staff and volunteers. Jund indicated she would be willing to serve as interim director if her new position allows.
The library also reported its fiscal 2026-2027 operating budget was reduced to $2,981 from $5,291.
